Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of NovelLens at novellens.com. By creating an account or using NovelLens, you agree to these Terms. If you are using NovelLens on behalf of a lab or institution, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for it.

The service

NovelLens finds research papers from public scholarly sources and uses AI to score and summarize them relative to your research profile. Features may change as we improve the product, and we may add, modify, or remove features over time.

Your account

• You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account.
• Provide accurate information, and keep it up to date.
• Lab administrators (PIs) control their lab’s membership and shared content.

AI-generated content

Scores, summaries, themes, and other AI-generated outputs are tools to help you prioritize reading. They can be incomplete or inaccurate and are not a substitute for reading the underlying papers or for your own scientific and professional judgment. Always verify findings against the original sources before relying on them in research, clinical, or other decisions.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use NovelLens for anything unlawful, or to infringe others’ rights.
• Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data, or disrupt the service.
• Scrape, resell, or systematically extract content from NovelLens without our permission.
• Reverse engineer the service except where the law allows it.

Content and intellectual property

You own the notes, collections, and other content you create. You give us permission to store and process it to provide the service to you and your lab. Paper titles, abstracts, and metadata belong to their respective authors and publishers and are shown for reference with links to the original sources. The NovelLens name, design, and software belong to NovelLens.

Paid plans

Some features may require a paid subscription. Pricing and billing terms will be shown before you purchase, and you can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Termination

You can stop using NovelLens and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these Terms or to protect the service or other users.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

NovelLens is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, NovelLens is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on AI-generated outputs. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we’ll update the date above and notify you where appropriate. Continuing to use NovelLens after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
